Lonesome Roads

"Yummy." Trucy said as she bit into one of the croissants. Martin looked at the NavTech and then said "We've gone quite a bit off course. We'll probably need to re plan our route."

Beatrice lookd at the map."What if we go left it looks like a shortcut to that dot thing but why is it surounded by brown things?"

Martin looked at the map and said "I'm not sure. A lot of the old symbols on this thing don't mean much these days. Looks like we don't have much of a choice though, follow that way and we'll see what happens."

"Alright"Beatrice folowd the way.Soon they were out of the valey and in some sort of rocky desert.

"Keep your eyes peeled. We're still in Sorrows territory for the time being."

"Sure.."Said Aidrian rather annoyed.

"Damn it's hot in this little box..." complained Trucy who was waving a comic book in her face like a fan. "I think we should pullover for awhile and relax in the sun."

Beatrice kept quiet.So did the twins.

Martin wiped the sweat off his forehead and said "She's right, we're gonna boil alive in this thing. We should get out for awhile and start driving again when the sun goes down a little."

"...Where should I stop?"Beatrice askd.

"Just pull up here." once the car stopped Trucy immediately jumped out and started gasping "Way... too... hot..."

"Maybe we could try opening the glass that surrounds it somehow?"Beatrice asked.Wile Aiden and Ethan kept playing rock,paper,scissors to determin who will drive next.

"Well there's no going back up that slope we took earlier so we'll have to figure out something." Martin said as he took off his shirt and began to wrap it around his head to cool down.

"I see."Beatrice puted a blanket on her head to protect her from the sun.Having dark hair when it's hot is no fun .

"This sun is so intense." Trucy moaned. She took out her sunglasses from her bag and popped them on. She then found a nice flat rock to lay on, stripped down to her underwear and laid down to catch some rays. Martin meanwhile took a look at their supplies and said "We only have enough food and water to last us another two or three days. Maybe less in this heat." He dug through Trucys bag and found a map, it was a rather crude hand drawn map but this one contained the locations of cities and villages that were running in the present day, and sat down with the NavTech to try and figure out where they could stop.

"Beatrice sat on the blanket looking at the sun."I so wish it would rain right now."said Ethan sitting on a rock with his legs crossed "Don't let a little heat stop you.You gotta be energetic show the world whos boss."

Trucy sat back sunbathing and said "I much prefer to relax in weather like this. If it holds up I might even get a tan."

"Why would you want to have a tan?Don't they kill you?"asked Ethan remebering this article about how sunbating is bad.

"I'm sure that's only if you do it too often. I haven't had a day out in the sun for a long time so I should be fine right?" Trucy said although inside she was a little worried now. Meanwhile Martin was doing his best to compare his virtual map of the old world with his crudely made map of the new one to try and find the nearest safe settlement.

"Who knows?Maybe you wil lturn into an ugly horrible mean monster and kill everyone in your way."Aiden started to tease the girl."Aiden,that's very rude."

Trucy stuck her tongue out at the boy, and then proceeded to take off her bra and panties because she didn't want to get tan lines. Martin continued looking at the maps and said "Okay, if we keep heading through this valley we should eventually reach a small settlement of more friendly tribals called the Elders. Hopefully we can resupply there."

"This time I'm driving"Aiden was already sitting in the drivers seat.Beatrice got up "why must I have dark hair?"

"Alright just take it slow. There's alot of rocky outcrops here and I don't want this thing getting damaged" Martin said as he got back into the car. Trucy gathered up her clothes and threw them in the boot before taking her seat. "Back into the greenhouse..." she moaned.

"Why are you nakid?"Beatrice asked.Aiden started the car and they began to drive.

"It's too damn hot I tell you." Trucy replied "I've read that tribal women walk around half naked most of the time anyway so I should fit in fine."
